SLE preparation – public service

Preparation for the public service Second Language Evaluations (SLE)

One-to-one online classes for public servants who need to obtain or renew their French language profile. Requirements depend on your position: always refer to the Public Service Commission and your manager.

    Who is it for?

    • Federal public servants aiming for a bilingual position (B or C levels).
    • Employees whose language profile is about to expire.
    • Candidates who already took the SLE and want to work on one specific skill.
    • Provincial or municipal employees who use French at work.

    What we work on

    Test of Reading Comprehension

The goal is not speed but grasping the exact meaning of a memo or directive. We practise identifying the main idea, nuances and the author’s intent, in the tone of federal administrative writing.

    Test of Written Expression

This test does not ask you to write: you spot the error or pick the correct wording in workplace sentences. So we target the rules that come up most: agreement, prepositions, sequence of tenses, English false friends.

    Test of Oral Proficiency

A conversation with an assessor that gets harder as it goes. For level B, the aim is to describe and explain your work clearly. For level C, you also need to defend a position, make hypotheses and handle delicate situations.

Your language profile (e.g. BBB, CBC)

We start from the profile your position requires and your past results, skill by skill, so no time is wasted on what you already master.
